It was supposed to be a normal Wednesday afternoon. Beams of the setting sun shone through cracks in Gabriel's blinds. He was sitting at his desk, drawing what looked to be a lion; Yet in hindsight the boy seemed distant. It was supposed to be a normal Wednesday afternoon. The big hand on his clock struck 5, "Dinner." He whispered out, before hearing his mother's muffled voice affirm from downstairs, "Dinner Gabriel!" It was supposed to be a normal Wednesday afternoon. Their meal passed slowly. Gabe's father had been silent, something that wasn't common for such a vocal man. His mother looked weary, and sorrow leaked from her baby blue eyes. "We need to talk." They said in unison. It was supposed to be a normal Wednesday afternoon. Gabriel glanced up from his hardly-touched food, golden eyes trailing over both paternal figures. "Yes?" He questioned. It was supposed to be a normal Wednesday afternoon. "Your mother and I need to-" Suddenly gunshots sounded from outside their gate-bound home, followed by screams; Screams of hate, screams of pain.. Screams of loss. It was supposed to be a normal Wednesday afternoon. Gabriel's parents looked at each other in fear, as someone.. Something, began kicking at the door. A gruff, "Wolfey!" Coming from it's assailant. It was supposed to be a normal Wednesday afternoon. "Go!" They screamed before darting towards various exits around the house. It was supposed to be a normal Wednesday afternoon. Tears ran down Gabriel's face as his parents disappeared from sight. Yet in the promise of life, he did the same. Sprinting away from everything. The gunshots, the kicks, the death that lingered in their little hometown of Edgepool. It was supposed to be a normal Wednesday afternoon. And even today, It was just supposed to be a normal Wednesday afternoon.
